Il Pastaficio (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates two artisanal pasta shops in Connecticut and the website ilpastaficio.com. This policy explains what information we collect through the website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language and kept it specific to what this website actually does.

Information you give us
The only form on this website is our contact form. When you use it, we collect the name, email address and message you enter, together with the subject you select (for example catering, pasta classes, private chef, gift cards, or working with us). We use this solely to answer you, and your message is routed by email to the team that handles that subject.
We do not sell this information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you explicitly ask us to.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site or search that referred you. This is used to keep the site working, secure and reasonably fast.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use three kinds:
- Strictly necessary. Set by our hosting and caching layer so pages load correctly. These cannot be switched off and carry no advertising identifiers.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4, used to understand in aggregate which pages people find useful. We have it configured so that IP addresses are truncated before storage.
- Advertising. The Meta Pixel, which lets us measure whether our social campaigns bring people to the site, and show relevant ads to people who have visited it.
Analytics and advertising cookies are the ones you can refuse. See Your choices below.
Third-party services on this website
Some parts of the site are provided by other companies, and loading them means your browser contacts their servers. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with your data:
- Google Analytics — website measurement.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — the Meta Pixel, and the Instagram feed shown on our il Pastaficio World page.
- YouTube and Vimeo — the television features and press videos in our Media section. These load only when you click to play them.
- Google Maps — the store locator on our Let’s Taste page, and the “Get Directions” links.
- Hostinger — our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf.
Our ordering and reservation buttons take you to Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub and our reservation partner. Once you leave our site, those services collect your information under their own terms, and we have no access to or control over it.
Your choices
- Refuse analytics and advertising cookies. Use the privacy banner shown on your first visit, or the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer to change your mind at any time.
- Opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google’s browser add-on.
- Adjust Meta advertising in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
- Browser controls. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. We honor Global Privacy Control where your browser sends it.
- Ask us directly. Write to info@ilpastaficio.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising under certain state laws, and refusing them through the banner stops that.
How long we keep things
Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for our ordinary business records, then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we apply reasonable safeguards to the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on this page.
